Water Integrity Network (WIN)

Year of creation: 2006

Developed by: Water Integrity Network - Fighting Corruption in Water Worldwide (WIN) is a coalition made up of the IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), Transparency International (TI) and the Water and Sanitation Program-Africa (WSP-AF)

Description: The WIN was formed to support anti-corruption activities in the water sector worldwide by forging coalitions that can take action in ways that individuals or single organisations cannot. The complexity of multiple geographical and institutional levels typical of water sub-sectors makes such coalitions essential. If corruption in water worldwide is to be successfully contained, it requires the establishment of sustainable local, national and international cross-sector coalitions made up of all interested stakeholders. WIN stimulates anti-corruption activities in the water sector locally, nationally and globally. It promotes solution-oriented action and coalition-building between civil society, the private and public sectors, media and governments.
